Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist | Certified Peer Specialist – Addictive Disease & Mental Health | Forensic Peer Mentor | Maternal Peer Support Specialist | MRT, WHAM, and WRAP I Facilitator
My name is Hannah Grant, and I am an overcomer.
From surviving trauma to finding redemption through faith and recovery, I’ve learned that healing is possible for anyone willing to take the first step.
My recovery journey began on 9/8/2022. Methamphetamines and Fentanyl were my demons. I originally found recovery through the 12 Steps, and today, my walk is centered around both Christianity and the principles of the 12-Step program. I believe that recovery is not one-size-fits-all and I wholeheartedly support all pathways to recovery and meet each person where they are.
As a CARES, CPS-AD, CPS-MH, FPM, and MPS, I’ve dedicated my life to helping all people grow through what they go through. I am a graduate of Muscogee County's Adult Drug Court. I have a background in case management and group facilitation within the treatment setting and currently serve as the Director of Programming with Carroll County Mental Health Advocates and The Recovery Spot. My own lived experience from addiction, incarceration, and loss to restoration and hope has fueled my passion for peer support and advocacy.
Outside of my professional role, I use my voice to inspire others through speaking engagements, music and singing, worship and storytelling. Whether I’m facilitating groups, sharing my testimony, or leading recovery events, my mission remains the same: to spread hope, grace, and the message that no one is too far gone to be redeemed.
Today, I am a proud mother, daughter, and fiancee. I have healthy relationships for the first time in my life. I have fallen in love with myself, and know my self-worth. My addictive disease doesn't define me, my God does. My voice was once taken, but now I have it back... for good, and my goal is to help others find theirs to.
“Grow through what you go through” isn’t just my favorite quote... it’s the heartbeat of my life and my calling.
The pain you've been feeling can't compare to the joy that's coming.

Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist | Certified Peer Specialist - Addictive Disease
My name is Michael McArdle and I am a person in long term recovery. My recovery date is February 7, 2020. For 20 years addiction has had control over my life. My transformation from addiction to recovery did not come easy. It took years of negative consequences and health scares to get my soul to wake up to change.
Today, my life is a story of recovery, resilience, and second chances. Through recovery, support, personal and spiritual growth, I’ve rebuilt my life and found purpose in sharing hope with others who may still be struggling. Today, my journey is about healing, helping others, and proving that transformation is possible.
My recovery journey began through the 12 steps and working with a licensed therapist. I am a firm believer that recovery is a personal journey and what worked for me may not work for you. I emphatically believe in all pathways to recovery and will walk beside you no matter what path you may choose.
As a Certified Peer Specialist for Carroll County Mental Health Advocates and The Recovery Spot I get to walk side by side with my peers to show that even though recovery is a personal journey we never have to walk that road alone.
Today I am a proud husband, father, son, brother, and friend. I have healthy relationships and am accountable. I practice self-care through my spirituality, meditation, exercise, and music. I am a drummer in multiple bands as well as part of a worship team at church. I live a wonderful fulfilling life today and it all started when I made the decision to act.
I use my lived experience with addiction to show others that if you are still breathing there is always hope!!

My name is Ruben Alvizures, Jr., and I am a person in long-term recovery. My recovery date is May 28, 1995.
I am originally from Guatemala, Central America, and joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduating from high school in Los Angeles, California. I took a geographical detour in an attempt to avoid the disease of addiction, but alcoholism followed me wherever I went.
My recovery journey began through the Twelve Steps and my experiences in recovery facilities, including a hospital, jail, and rehabilitation program at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. It was there that I found AA and NA and began building the foundation of my recovery.
Today, I keep an open mind and believe that recovery is a personal journey. What worked for me may not work for someone else, and I believe strongly in all pathways to recovery. I am committed to walking beside others, no matter what path they choose.
In 2013, a new path was introduced into my life that transformed my way of thinking and opened my heart and mind in many ways. Several years later, a ministry was formed for individuals seeking Christian guidance and support in different areas of life, including marriage counseling, depression, and financial assistance. I continue to use my personal experiences to inspire and encourage others through spiritual messages on Sundays. Helping others remains the foundation of everything I do.
Today, I am a proud husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend. I am grateful for the healthy relationships in my life and strive to live with accountability. I practice self-care through my Twelve Steps of AA/NA, spirituality, meditation, exercise, and music. Music has also been an important part of my life. I have been a sober DJ and have owned a small entertainment business, providing music and entertainment at weddings for more than 25 years.
My journey has taught me that our mistakes do not have to define us. Instead, they can become opportunities to learn, grow, and help someone else along the way.
I believe in the words of Henry Ford:
“The only real mistake is the one from which we learned nothing.”
